So, let's see Mom got denied to Willis Knighton for a 3rd time. ARGH! The reason...because the Dr. that is assigned to Mom that makes his rounds to the nursing homes/rehabilitation places said that she needs to be at Touro a specialty brain institute. This is the same place that Dr. Nanda mentioned when we went to his appt the other day. It is a great place but the problem is....it is in New Orleans 5 hours away. Sigh. Here is the website.

Johnny and I talked about it and after thinking long and hard....we decided to try to get her in there. It sucks that she will be that far away but we want her to get the best possible chance to get better. We would be able to visit her every weekend or almost every weekend. We are not 100% that they will accept her but we will know Monday or Tuesday. We were thinking that we would rather her be a specialty place for a few months rather than a nursing home for a year or longer....and at this point I am not sure of what places would take her due to her impulsivity.
